Mrs. Morris Receives Outstanding Service to Career and Technical Education Award
At the State Conference for Career and Technical Education this summer, Mrs. Pamela J. Morris, Sealy ISD Superintendent, received the highest award given each year by the Career and Technical Education Association in Texas. Mrs. Morris was honored with the “Outstanding Service to Career and Technical Education Award.” The next few sentences about Mrs. Morris were printed in the Awards Luncheon Program and read to the audience before Mrs. Morris was presented with her award. Mrs. Pamela J. Morris joined Sealy ISD in March 2006, as principal of Sealy High School. During Mrs. Morris first month at Sealy High School, she assisted the agriculture science department in purchasing a greenhouse and starting a horticulture department. That summer an additional agriculture science teacher was hired to develop a tractor mechanics program. In May 2007, Mrs. Morris was named the superintendent of Sealy ISD. Under her leadership, the Sealy ISD Career and Technical Education Department have implemented the following programs: Principles of Technology, Health Science, Video Technology, Sports and Entertainment Marketing, Evening EMT Certification Program, and Workforce/ Technical Dual Credit Welding. Mrs. Morris is more than a friend and supporter of Career and Technical Education. She understands the importance of educating “all” students. On any given day, you may find Mrs. Morris watching a Sealy FFA Member exhibiting his animal at the Austin County Fair, giving the welcome at the Sealy ISD Tractor Tech Contest, supporting CTE at an advisory meeting, or purchasing a ticket for a Go Texan Scholarship Fundraiser. The Sealy ISD Career and Technical Education Department and the Sealy community are honored to be associated with such dynamic leader as Mrs. Pamela J. Morris.   Presenting Mrs. Morris with her award is Mr. Gary Madsen the 2009 Career and Technical Education Association of Texas President.
