CTE

Career and technical education is about helping students, workers, and lifelong learners of all ages fulfill their working potential. First and foremost it is about high school and college education that provides students with:

Allen Kaminski, CATE Director

What is Career and Technical Education?

  • Academic and CTE courses taught with rigor, relevance to the real world.
  • Employability skills, from job-related skills to workplace ethics.
  • Education pathways that help students explore interests and careers in the process of progressing through school.

  • Sealy ISD Students Earn Industry Certifications
The career and technical education department understands the importance of industry certifications. During the 2008/2009 school year, 112 students earned industry certifications in ServSafe Food Protection Management, NCCER Construction Core, NCCER Welding, AWS Welding, OSHA, and EMT.
Sealy ISD and Blinn College Enter into a Partnership
Career and Technical Education Students at Sealy ISD can now earn technical dual credit through Blinn College while enrolled in their local career and technical education courses. Technical dual credit is offered in the agriculture mechanics and health science career clusters.  Students that have completed the introductory courses in this career cluster and that are interested need to visit with Mrs. Wolf or Mr. Hancock.
