Wendy’s High School Heisman
Eligibility for application is limited exclusively to men and women entering their senior year of high school in the 2010-2011 academic year who have at least a "B" grade average and participate in at least one of the 27 sports officially sanctioned by the National Federation of State High Schools. All student-athletes who work hard, are dedicated, and have become role models for their school's underclassmen should apply. Students are judged based on their academic achievements, community service involvement, and athletic accomplishments. Applications must be completed online at www.wendyshighschoolheisman.com and are due by 5:00 pm cst on October 3, 2010. Please complete your application early to allow time for your application to be reviewed.

TCU Texas Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Awards
This scholarship is open to any high school student that is an entrepreneur. Six students will be awarded scholarship ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 that can be used at any university. Applications are available online at www.tcuyeya.org and are due by November 1, 2010.

The Ron Brown Scholar Program
The Ron Brown Scholar Program seeks to identify African-American high school seniors who will make significant contributions to society. Applicants must excel academically, exhibit exceptional leadership potential, participate in community service activities and demonstrate financial need. The applicant must be a US citizen or hold a permanent resident visa card. A minimum of ten students will be designated Ron Brown Scholars and will receive $10,000 annually for four years, for a total of $40,000. Applications are available for download online at www.ronbrown.org. Applications turned in prior to November 1st will be forwarded to other scholarship providers. The final postmarked deadline is January 9th. Applications received after November 1st and by January 9th will be considered for the Ron Brown scholarship only.

The Power of Life
The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center will award 11 students with $2,000 scholarships. Because Sealy High School holds two blood drives a year all seniors are eligible to apply. Students with a minimum GPA of 2.5 must complete the application and complete a creative project/presentation that will inspire individuals to Commit for Life. Completed entries must be postmarked by March 1, 2011. Applications are available online at www.giveblood.org/scholarship or in the counseling office.
